r to Host Annual Spring Luncheon on May 22
Keynote Address by Clarkson University President Michelle B. Larson, PhD
The Potsdam Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce its annual Spring Luncheon, to be held on Thursday, May 22, 2025, at 12:00 PM at the Potsdam Town and Country Club, located at 6194 State Highway 56.
This highly anticipated community event brings together business leaders, professionals, and guests from across the region for an afternoon of networking, celebration, and inspiration. The event will feature a keynote address by Michelle B. Larson, PhD, the newly appointed 19th President of Clarkson University.
A physicist by training, President Larson brings a remarkable blend of academic and non-profit business leadership expertise, all rooted in her deep commitment to science and higher education. Larson joined Clarkson University on April 1, 2025 from The Adler Planetarium in Chicago, where she served as President and CEO since 2013. She will provide an overview of her journey, including what led her to enthusiastically join our community.
In addition to the keynote, the Chamber will recognize several local businesses celebrating milestone anniversaries in 2025, including: Drew Insurance Agency – 110 years, Northern Insuring Agency – 95 years, WB Goodnow Agency – 95 years, Northern Credit Union – 70 years, Pinto Mucenski Hooper VanHouse & Co., P.C. – 60 years, TJ Toyota – 45 years, SUNY Potsdam Child Care Center – 35 years, St. Lawrence Valley Antique Dealers Assoc. – 35 years, Potsdam Agway – 25 years, T&R Wines and Liquors – 25 years, SummerHaven Pool, Hearth & Spa – 15 years, Lionheart Graphics – 15 years and Brick and Mortar Music – 10 years.
The Chamber’s Marketing and Membership Committee will also present the annual “Business on the Rise” Award, which honors a Chamber member business that has been in operation for less than three years and demonstrates exceptional entrepreneurial spirit, innovation, and commitment to the community.
