At the North Country Children’s Museum, we believe that learning is a hands-on, minds-on, interactive experience. With exhibits that celebrate the cultural and geographical resources of the North Country, you’ll find play areas and tinker spaces for all ages to get kids thinking, making, and doing. Build and balance in our Construction Zone or run the store in our Kids Co-Op and Bakery. Explore the Raquette River in our Adirondack Water Play exhibit or light up your mind with our STEAM Power everbright art wall and engineering lab. Our Playspace, especially designed for crawlers, toddlers and preschoolers, gets little ones moving with sensory and imaginative play. Come play and learn with us!
Big Spoon Kitchen’s mission is to connect people with the wonderful local food resources we have right here in our community. Currently, we are doing this in three ways:
Pick Up Meals: Each week we’ll cook based on what’s in season and what inspires us! Menu launches each Thursday. Order window closes the following Monday at 11AM. Pick-up is Tuesday 3-6 PM at Big Spoon Kitchen or there is a Wednesday delivery option. Freezer items are always available to order online. Just email us to arrange a pickup time.
Catering: Let us handle the hungry guys and gals at your next event. Get in touch and let’s talk food!
We provide child care for children ages 6 weeks to 10 years old. We are licensed for 98 children and have 7 program areas within the Center. We give preference to SUNY Faculty/Staff/Students and other NYS employees under the GOER. If space is still available, we are able to offer spots to the community at large.
