“A Southern Barbecue experience in the North Country.
We take great pride in supporting our local businesses through our purchases. All of our meat has been hand selected and purchased locally through Tri Town Packing for the past 10 years. We offer a 10% discount for our beloved first responders as well as our men and woman who have proudly served in the United States Armed Forces. Our business would like to personally thank you, with Mr. Jenkinson (business owner) who is still proudly serving as a Master Sergeant in the United States Air Force. The Jerry Blossom Bar-B-Que Business has been cooking southern style plates since late 2006. With great pride and dedication in our selection of meat and plates, we promise a fun filled Barbecue catering experience for yourself and your guests that you won’t forget, serving ya’ll with some good o’l southern hospitality. Bringing you ‘A Southern Barbecue experience in the North Country.'”
Mission Statement:
Provide a healthy, plant-based food option in the Village of Potsdam, utilize environmentally conscious methods and products, source organic and local ingredients as much as possible, and provide education to the community on ways to live a healthy lifestyle.
The Cafe:
Come enjoy the local art, hand crafted items, and craftsmanship within the cafe. The North Country has wonderful talent that we want to show off and support. We have also made efforts to utilize sustainable products for our tables and seating which includes woods, metals, and recycled plastics. Re-purposed items will also be utilized throughout the store to reduce waste heading to the landfill. Minimizing the use of virgin plastics and working towards zero waste is a goal of Foster the Plant Cafe so we can do our part in protecting the environment.
“Restaurant and Bar with a focus on community and sourcing ingredients from New York State. Serving classic American favorites from scratch with our own twist.”
Big Spoon Kitchen’s mission is to connect people with the wonderful local food resources we have right here in our community. Currently, we are doing this in three ways:
Pick Up Meals: Each week we’ll cook based on what’s in season and what inspires us! Menu launches each Thursday. Order window closes the following Monday at 11AM. Pick-up is Tuesday 3-6 PM at Big Spoon Kitchen or there is a Wednesday delivery option. Freezer items are always available to order online. Just email us to arrange a pickup time.
Take a Class: There are no secret recipes at Big Spoon. We want you to enjoy cooking as much as we do! Contact us for a private class for a group of 4 or more!
Catering: Let us handle the hungry guys and gals at your next event. Get in touch and let’s talk food!
