Supporting Business Building Community
AEDC News Blast
ConThe New York State Seed Funding Grant Program (the “Program”) was created to provide assistance to early-stage small businesses to succeed in a recovering New York State economy.
Eligible Applicants must provide evidence, acceptable to New York State that the Eligible Applicant is operational and meets the Program requirements. As part of the application each micro-business, small business, or for-profit arts and cultural organization including independent arts contractors shall provide sufficient documentation in a manner prescribed by Empire State Development (“ESD”) to demonstrate Program qualification. Only one grant per business EIN or SSN is allowed. Due to a limited amount of funding and the high volume of requests expected, business type, geography and industry may factor into ability to receive a grant.
For firms that have already filed a Federal Tax Return for operations: Grant awards will be calculated based upon the annual amount of gross receipts as shown on their provided 2020 or 2021 business tax return.
For firms that have NOT filed a Federal Tax Return for operations thus far:

Have you been missing our annual Baking Fest? Bakers (and tasters) rejoice! We will once again be hosting the event, and this year, returning to our very own Carriage House Bakery for the festivities. The event will take place on Sunday, December 4th, from 12pm to 3pm.
There will be 5 categories on the sampling table…
Winners of each category will receive a $25 Co-op Gift Card. Bakers can register their baked goods online (see button below) or stop into the store to fill out a registration form.
This event is a great opportunity to mingle with friends and fellow members, sample delicious homemade baked goods, bid on your favorites, and help the Co-op raise money for a good cause. As is our tradition, all proceeds from the Silent Auction (and any additional donations) will benefit the Potsdam Neighborhood Center, a local organization that provides food and other financial assistance to community members in need. We hope you’ll join us!
For questions about this event, please email us or call us at (315) 265-4630.
The FISU World University Games will play preliminary hockey games in Canton and Potsdam (Western Venues), January 11-19, before heading to the finals in Lake Placid. As host communities, we look forward to welcoming new visitors and want them to feel the warm North Country hospitality! As hosts, we also want the Games organizers to see how supportive we are by filling the stands for all of the games!
