The St. Lawrence Bed and Breakfasts organization consists of fifteen area lodging owners who have grouped together to network and share advertising. Each is individually owned and operated. It is time again for the Chamber's 42nd Annual SummerFest. The dates this year are July 9-12. Look for live music on the Northern Music & Video Main Stage, crafters in Ives Park, an Antique Car Show, a local Heroes Parade, side walk sales, vendors selling special goods and more. Beginning at 6am on Thursday, July 9 and continuing through midnight on Saturday July 11, the 1-35 Block of Market Street will be closed to traffic for the Potsdam Chamber’s 42nd Annual SummerFest. Executive Director of the Chamber, Brenda Thornton is asking residents to please not park on the street in the 1-35 block of Market on Wednesday evening, July 8. According to Thornton in past years there were cars parked in the cordoned off section that were towed so that the Chamber could set up the main stage, and so that vendors could setup. Those who were towed were charged the towing and impound fee. The Chamber is encouraging anyone who requires overnight parking during those dates to please park at the overnight lots on Beal, Main, and Raymond Streets. The Chamber also would like to remind the public that the cordoned off section of Market Street is for pedestrian use only. The use of bicycles and skateboards is not allowed. The Chamber is requesting visitors to SummerFest to take advantage of the convenient bicycle racks located at either end of Market Street, and to please leave your skateboard at home. Potsdam PD will be enforcing the pedestrian only rule.
