The Potsdam Chamber announces the hiring of a new executive director, Marylee E. Ballou and a return to office hours of Monday-Friday 9:30 am to 4:30 pm. Marylee has served as the Chamber’s office assistant for the past four years, as well as chairing the business promotions committee. She has helped in the planning for Potsdam Summer Festival and Fright Night events. She holds both a Bachelors and Masters degree in Education from SUNY Potsdam and is a native to the area. In 2010, the Chamber will focus on recruiting new members to the chamber and acquainting businesses with the benefits of membership. “I plan on visiting member businesses as well as yet-to-be-members to discuss what services they find valuable and how the Chamber can better assist them,” Miss Ballou said. The Chamber also announces the 2010 executive board members including: Janice Adderley, The Copy Shop, president; Rob Bicknell, Bicknell Corporation, vice president; Tracy Tuttle, Potsdam Elks, secretary; Bill Shumway, North Country This Week, treasurer; and Pamela Maurer, APT to Travel, past president.
